GSI Grain Systems

In a 5,000 square foot garage with only 3 workers, Craig Sloan helped establish Grain Systems (GSI) in 1972 and began manufacturing a wide variety of corrugated steel storage bins. Though they started out as one of the smallest steel storage bin manufacturers, by 1988 they were one of the largest in the world.

Today, GSI is the world’s largest manufacturer of steel farm bins, commercial storage grain bins and grain silos, providing farmers and processing facilities a single source for all of their grain equipment needs, providing quality equipment and services to over 70 countries worldwide.

Why GSI? The answer is simple. Today’s production requirements demand systems that excel in performance and are reliable year after year. In addition, their easy installation, maintenance, simple operation, durability, flexibility, and operation efficiency are all carefully considered in the design and construction of every GSI product manufactured.

Their goal is to identify and react to the needs of the industry with quality products that help you achieve maximum return on your investment, so they’ve created the most technologically advanced grain dryers and systems in the industry to do just that. Their large selection of material handling systems including grain bin sweeps, spreaders, chain loop systems, commercial bucket elevators, conveyors, support towers, and catwalks, all work together to streamline your business.

Fans and Heaters

Keeping your grain in condition throughout its time spent in storage is the most vital aspect to any storage system. GSI designs and manufactures complete line of rugged aeration and grain conditioning systems to help maintain grain quality. Choose from a variety of high efficiency vane axial, centrifugal, and inline centrifugal fans and heaters, all with features designed to reduce costs and boost performance.

Temporary Storage

Temporary storage systems offer a quick, efficient and cost effective way to increase your storage capacity. For only pennies per bushel you can handle up to 2 million or more bushels.

Topdry

Though the TopDry is technically drying grain in the bin, it is really more like an out of bin dryer. Combine the TopDry’s limited depth, roof drying floor and high capacities with the same high capacity fans used on our Portable Dryers and you get capacities equal to our largest Stack Portable Dryer..

Bolted Bins

With a seemingly endless number of square and rectangular combinations, InterSystems’ modular Bolted Bins offer the ultimate in flexibility for storage of batching ingredients or commodities.

X-Series Ladders

At GSI, your safety is our number one priority. That’s why we have carefully designed the exclusive X-Series ladders and platforms specifically to meet OSHA guidelines to ensure the safest work environment possible.

Spreaders

A spreader distributes fines of grain without compromising quality. It’s gentle on grain and tough enough to handle fill rates up to 40,000 bushels per hour. Uniformly distributed fines eliminate the time and expense of coring and create a better environment for storage. Improve fan efficiency, increase storage time and marketing flexibility with GSI and AgriDry Grain Spreaders.

Grain Handling

Every commercial material handling operation is unique. That’s why Chief goes the extra mile to offer maximum flexibility with a wide selection of bucket elevators, conveyors and accessories to meet your needs.

For optimum longevity, Chief offers galvanized material handling systems to withstand the most corrosive conditions. All components feature rugged construction and are designed for easy maintenance.

Chief’s staff of engineers are dedicated to continually seeking ways to increase the capacity, efficiency and longevity of our material handling systems. To assure ease of installation, Chief trunking systems are precision aligned and test fit at our factory.

Behind every Chief material handling system is our company’s 50-plus year tradition of excellence in engineering, manufacturing and customer service.

Bucket Elevators

GSI bucket elevators are designed to perform day after day, whether you are loading out daily from your facility or pushing through harvest. A reliable GSI bucket elevator gives you maximum throughput and less grain damage, ensuring your operation is efficient. With an array of sizes, finishes, and options each bucket elevator is designed to meet your specific needs, specialized to your operation.

Chain Conveyors

At GSI, your safety is our number one priority. That’s why we have carefully designed the exclusive X-Series ladders and platforms specifically to meet OSHA guidelines to ensure the safest work environment possible.

Belt Conveyors

Ideal for long length runs, belt conveyors are an extremely efficient and gentle way to move grain, requiring less maintenance than other conveyor types giving you ease and efficiency for your operation.

Air Systems

With the acquisition of DMC, GSI began offering air systems in 1997. These systems move your grain through tubes using air, minimizing damage while maximizing efficiency and convenience. With an air system, you can change and maintain bins from the ground, avoiding air servicing. Here you can easily find the air system that will integrate seamlessly with your GSI dryer or expand your system just by laying more tube.

Distributors

At GSI, your safety is our number one priority. That’s why we have carefully designed the exclusive X-Series ladders and platforms specifically to meet OSHA guidelines to ensure the safest work environment possible.

Gravity Screeners

InterSystems’ line of gravity screeners removes broken kernels, dirt, and other foreign material with nominal operating expense, and may lead to operational cost savings. Rather than relying on an external power source, InterSystems’ screeners are designed to work solely off gravity after the discharge. FM (Foreign Material or “fines”) is removed by allowing the smaller particles to pass through product-specific screens.

Micro-Ingrediant Systems

Micro ingredient systems help reduce manufacturing costs, increase plant efficiency, provide better traceability and inventory control, and offer a safer environment. InterSystems offers both weight gain and weight loss systems to help accurately and precisely control ingredient batch weighing.

Automatic Samplers

InterSystems’ Automatic Samplers adapt readily to your particular application, regardless of capacity, layout or material – all backed by decades of industry success. Sample delivery units are used to transport bulk samples from one point to another, reducing labor costs with efficient motor operation of blower and air lock. A variety of automatic controls and collection systems options offers more opportunities to create the sampling system that best fits your needs.

Bulk Weighers

InterSystems provides accurate weighing of free-flowing bulk materials through our line of Bulk Weighers, first introduced in 1978. Over 500 systems currently in service were designed and manufactured to have the dependability and durability for an extended life.

Structures

Agriculture is all about hard work and being smart with your time – get the job done right so you can move on to the next one. That’s why we’ve gone back to the drawing board with towers and catwalks to create a product that makes installation more intuitive so that dealers and contractors can complete projects faster.

So we went through each step of the process to make it much easier to build by:

  • Giving contractors less pieces and a simple design
  • Adding alignment guides that make connections easier to bolt together
  • Designing platforms that are mounted between tower sections to accelerate construction
  • And significantly reducing the overall number of bolts needed to erect the structure

Quickbolt™ Tower

QuickBolt™ Towers feature fewer bolts, less pieces and a time saving platform design for more efficient on-site assembly. Our unique, industry leading design is available for bucket elevators, support towers, and catwalk support towers.
